Spring sensations
From Troy’s, across Sharon’s, the what I would call, ‘Monday Eighteen’:
1. Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4, write down what it says:
“When Paul and I shook hands they needed galoshes.” (Between Silk and Cyanide, by Leo Marks)
2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
My girlfriend, Viola, who’s reading the newspaper.
3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Arhg, fuck. I hate to admit this, but I was forced to watch Sex and the City… Which isn’t that bad after all. HBO kicks arse, regarding series, my favourite being Six Feet Under…
4. WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is:
A quarter to six?
5. Now look at the clock; what is the actual time?
A quarter past six. My ‘inner clock’ is malfunctioning when I’m vacating.
6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
My girlfriend writing, birds and chatter from outside, someone walking upstairs, a car passing by, my own breath.
7. When was the last time you stepped outside? What were you doing?
I stepped outside a couple of hours ago. I went for a walk, took some pictures (as you can see below), bought a coffee milkshake and sat on a bench, enjoying the spring weather looking at people and a variety of birds (who didn’t shit on me today) by the lakes nearby.
8. What are you wearing?
A green t-shirt with a huge, red arrow on the front, denim trousers and a pair of brown leather shoes. Top that with black socks, red striped boxers, a watch from the mid-sixties, a ring, my granddad’s necklace and one more necklace (visible) with a hand made arrow-head from a native American tribe I cannot remember the name of.
9. Did you dream last night?
Nope. I probably did, but I can’t remember what I dreamt. Probably something about bird-toilets and pump-guns (you go figure out why).
10. When did you have your last laugh?
I’ve been wearing a stupid smile on my face the whole day, but a good laugh, I had yesterday evening when I goofed around with Viola. I’m not getting into details here…!
11. What is on the walls of the room you’re in?
Wowsers. A lot, actually. A poster with one of the bands I play in, two paintings, one painted by a friend and one by my cousin, three framed posters by Kurt Trampedach (a Danish painter) and a picture taken from the James Bond movie ‘Thunderball’.
12. What is the last film you watched?
The anime Tokyo Godfathers by the Japanese director Satoshi Kon. Highly recommendable!
13. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
Probably a house somewhere warm. Perhaps southern France. Or, maybe a new Powerbook first. I dunno.
14. Tell me something about you that I don’t know
What you don’t know, does not hurt you.
15. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
The economic system and (religious) fanaticism. It’s the root to all the misery around the globe.
16. Do you like to dance?
Not especially. Only if I want to make a fool out of myself, then I can be quite funky.
17. George Bush: is he a power-crazy nutcase or someone who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?
He’s a religious, narrow-minded, non-educated, right-wing fanatic, imposing his (and his government’s) views on every other country outside the US. by verbal & non-verbal force. A dangerous man, if you ask me. If he continues like this, he’s going to create an evil axis himself.
18. Would you ever consider living abroad?
Of course. Where? I honestly don’t know. Somewhere warmer, I think, but that’s a worn-out statement, right?
Ahh…spring sensation. Here’s a link to a commercial for Japanese beer, that also has some spring sensation in it. Those Japanese has something with aesthetics that we lack a bit ‘over here’…
