Biopolitical Tattoo
Excerpt from a commentary by the Italian philosopher, Giorgio Agamben (Lettre Internationale, Danish edition, #003 p.3, No to the Biopolitical Tattoo):
[...] it is possible that the tattooing in Auschwitz was considered to be the most “normal” and economical way of handling the registration of the deported in the camp. The biopolitical tattoo (the new registration and catalogisation procedure by fingerprinting visitors, mf.) that is forced upon us in order to enter the United States is a relay in the race that tomorrow has the potential of making us accept the next one in the form of a “normal” enrolment of the good citizen’s identity in the mechanisms and cogwheel-systems of the state.
I know I’m overstating, but pair this excerpt with the census in the bible and the statements from Bush’s closest advisors that says that the man in many hardcore decision-making situations prays to God in order to “make the right decision”, and you have a situation brewing where the state no longer is separated from the church, which is in a direct conflict with the fundamental philosophies of the foundation of the United States. No matter where the fact lies, Giorgio Agamben has a point. It is a slippery slope which the Western World should steer away from as soon as possible.

the whole situation is quite fucked that way, isn’t it. It’s scary when you think that the most powerful man in the world makes his decision by looking up at the ceiling and praying to god.
btw, great pictures! Is that a mushroom in teh second?
