Grunt!
This pisses me off. One would believe that Lego™ should have what it takes, when powering up for e-commerce.
I was visiting Lego World Shop today, and I couldn’t get in!!! No matter what country I selected on the front page, I couldn’t get in!!! And, you couldn’t contact Lego™ on the front page to tell them what a sorry bunch of assholes they are. Or should I say what a sorry bunch of assholes IBM or the company behind the design - Ahead, or their own internal staff, are?
‘Assholes’ might be a strong word, I know, but when you look at the code the servlet sends back to the browser, you might agree - and sorry - I’m getting technical now. The code looks like this:
<html><title=”lego world shop”>
<script language=”javascript”>
window.open(”/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/BatchCommand? [ add a lot of code here] “,”_self”);
</script>
</html>

Now should it really be necessary to tell you that there is something totally nuts going on here? I’ll let it be up to you to interpret the code. There are at least four MAJOR errors here!!
And furthermore - and more important: I don’t know if they were in the middle of arranging things on the site - and frankly, I don’t give a shit! As a customer I won’t stand up for this crap for more than fifteen minutes, no matter who I am, where I come from or what browser I use (I used IE4.5,Mac). I want information! I want to know why the hell nobody answers the door, and why I can’t communicate with the people behind it!!! Maybe Lego™ should kick the responsible butt and contact the Nielsen Norman Group for a word or two…?
And this site has won awards here in Denmark? That just shows how neanderthal Denmark is when it comes to e-commerce!!! GRUNT!
