Parkour as gameplay

Swedish DICE has something different up their sleeves. A game called ‘Mirror’s Edge’ where the plot is taking place in the near future where a William Gibson-esque city, heavily controlled, depend on ‘runners’ or ‘couriers’ to carry underground or rebel information, because this has become safer than any electronic transaction. You play a female protagonist [...]

Return to Spectre

‘Spectre’. Photo by Derek Frey
Derek Frey took a trip back to the abandoned set of the small town ‘Spectre’ from the movie ‘Big Fish‘ (he worked as Tim Burton’s assistant on the movie). Usually such sets are taken down after shooting, but according to John August it stayed there by request from the owner of [...]

The Four-eyes Fund

The Danish movie-company Zentropa has announced that they have created a fund for financial support of experimental films, called “The Four-eyes Fund” (Brilleabe Fonden). The purpose of this fund is to

…ensure the survival of the elitist cinema, in a world of an increasing number of result-oriented and audience-craving tv-stations and film institutes.

The essence of European film?

This is so not like the European Union at all - but (ha ha ha - *cough*) this is brillant! (Thanks David)

Simplicity in its utmost sublime form

Saul Bass rules. From The Man with the Golden Arm. Beautiful!

The Film School… act two

As expected, I didn’t get any further with my application to the National Film School of Denmark. The school was so kind to get one of the members of the application committee to write me a few words as to explain why. Much to my pleasure I learned that it wasn’t the craftsmanship that was [...]

YAHOOO!

Just got the news: After having submitted my two films, I have moved on to the second step of the admission test for The National Film School of Denmark! I am so frigging happy! Oh joy! Ahead lies up to five different tests until six directors have been chosen - my very own “Big Brother” [...]

Farewell Musser

Musser watching her territory.
My mother’s cat, called ‘Musser’ died today. One of the finest cats I’ve ever met. Graceful, wise, strong, playful, social, jazzy. She even smelled good. :-) She was seventeen years old.

If film studios developed video games

We’re lacking a clear backstory and dramatic arc for Puzzle Farter. Why is this story happening to this character, now? Why is he so gassy?
