As a follow up on my previous rant on politeness, it seems that in Japan, it’s just the opposite. As Nafai has experienced it - overly obsessive politeness can become a hassle too! Read his very funny rant here. Perhaps a middle way would suffice?
I do like this post. Even though trying to come up with a solution for a rant like “Why is everybody so goddamn rude?” could be pretty hard (I’ve read too little about social studies to come up with a bearable solution), I still like the idea about trying to come up with a solution [...]
A lot of women get raped every day, across the globe. Apart from this controversial, yet effective idea, I have an idea as well: After having positively and irrevocably identified the rapist, he gets smacked on the table and then 2 inches gets removed from his penis. I despise reality TV. But only when it doesn’t do any good. Such programs like the ones where they help people (without modifying them with plastic surgery!!!), like the one (can’t remember the name), where they take a poor family and rip their home apart and build a beautiful place for them instead - giving them a kind of fresh start (often accompanied with a donation from the neighbourhood or the construction company etc.). I know it’s there for product placement, but I don’t care. It’s nice to see people be helped when they truly need it. Even though the dilemma about not being able to help all people in need is there, having to chose one from another - but how can you anyway?
You know the old tune “Where have all the flowers gone?” by Pete Seeger, right? I want to rewrite that tune. Let us call it “Where have all politeness gone?”. All-right, time for a rant, you might think, and damn straight it’s time for a rant!
I just remembered! If you’re subscribing to Interiority’s RSS, you need to update your link, since I will be removing the old feed URL soon! Thanks!

Feels good to get it off my shoulders…
The Conservapedia “Masterpiece of the week”. Strangely enough, painted by Maximilien Luce, a French painter, that was active with anarchist groups in Paris in the 1890s.
Warning: Old news ahead! You’ve been warned.
I won’t pretend that I know a whole lot about American politics, but what I have learned is that certain right-wing movements seem to [...]
An old window with some knickknackery in ‘Gamla Stan’, Stockholm.
