National Anthems

Quote from TED newsletter:
Take a look at these films. They are each just one minute long. They feature a choir in one country singing another country’s national anthem: a simple idea that packs surprising emotional power.
France sings for USA
Kenya sings for India
Japan sings for Turkey
My favourite so far: Australia sings for Lebanon

The Copenhagen Syndrome

Denmark, or rather our capital, has now given name to a most un-flattering definition, called the Copenhagen Syndrome. An article from openDemocracy defines it like this:
They [the Danes] give away one of the largest percentages of their gross national income in foreign aid and their government has the most restrictive immigration [...]

São Paulo bans public advertising

Now why on Earth have I not heard about this before?? Here I am, reading my girlfriend’s Adbusters Magazines, cooking up dumb ideas on how to pay for $1.000.000 worth of street advertising, just to fill it with either empty spaces or ads for a healthier living, then this comes along. And [...]

By the way…

Since Bush now are sending more troops to Iraq, we might as well also celebrate the recent birthday of David Bowie by playing “I’m afraid of Americans”…

Another sad day for mankind

America has now killed more Iraqi civilians than Saddam [Via], chasing down a man, the US government themselves put in power, allegedly - apart from the civil slaughter - because of some weapons of mass destruction that did not exist. And the Danish government, which is in on it refuses to take up the discussion [...]

Now, I realise that it is difficult not to include something if you depict everyday life in a rural setting from the Western world, but there [...]

A sad day for the World

There are now more overweight people across the world than hungry ones…

Creativity and holism

The renowned Ph.D., physicist and systems theorist, Fritjof Capra [more] wrote in 1975 in one of his books, The Tao of Physics, that the paradigm in which we in the western world live in, contains a view of the universe which is very “mechanical”: We consist of building blocks (DNA), life is a competitive struggle, [...]

Farewell Musser

Musser watching her territory.
My mother’s cat, called ‘Musser’ died today. One of the finest cats I’ve ever met. Graceful, wise, strong, playful, social, jazzy. She even smelled good. :-) She was seventeen years old.

If film studios developed video games

We’re lacking a clear backstory and dramatic arc for Puzzle Farter. Why is this story happening to this character, now? Why is he so gassy?
