Production photos

Behind the scenes photos from the shooting we did last weekend. In order not to reveal too much, the photos aren’t particular saucy (which I guess they aren’t in general). I have one or two more photos to show, but they’ll have to wait until I’ve finished the movie and you’ve seen it.

The shooting went very well, thanks to the hard working crew. Unbelievable how much effort they put in it, and I’m very honoured to have worked with them all. Tony Lorentzen, once again, was the photographer, Maria Esther Lemvigh the actress, whom acted up against Morten Øland. Emilie Grossos Aabye was the special effects makeup artist. A small and wonderful team.

It was a tight schedule. We ended up shooting 12 scenes/angles the first evening and 9 the next, completing approx. 90 takes. Good thing we shot it on DV and not on film (^_-) - the upside of that particular medium. And now I’m currently working on the editing which will take me a while, before the finished film is ready to behold. As usual I will keep you posted.

Game development as movie development?

In my humble observation, the working environment of a game studio is very much like a software company, which seems logical, because in the end it is software that are being developed. So we have game studios, where people are sitting with well defined jobs, hired on contract for a longer period of time. Roughly, [...]

Wine-dropping

Well, if I’m not capable of shameless name dropping, then I’m capable of a wine-ish derivable thereof. Right… Cheeky little bastard I am… Ahem…

Admiration

Movies and music are related in terms of taste – it fluctuates. But often you find yourself having a certain relation to certain genres / themes etc. in certain periods of your life. And for me, this of course this also goes with directors, or movie makers. Two of these have my deepest admiration these [...]

Machinima

A whole sub-culture of moviemakers, making movies with games, has emerged over the past few years. People are collaborating all over the world, making small cinematic experiences with the use of tools for games like Halo, Quake II and more. Some unique small movies, which are called “machinima” [Wikipedia] (a portmanteau of machine cinema or [...]

Watchful eye

Roger Ebert has posted a list of 102 movies you must see before…. Ebert says:

..they [are] the movies you just kind of figure everybody ought to have seen in order to have any sort of informed discussion about movies. They’re the common cultural currency of our time, the basic cinematic texts that everyone should know, [...]

Aaand…. Action!

I’ve been quite busy the past month or so. Apart from moving, I’ve been involved in this music video shoot, which I wrote, directed and produced for Dynamoe. We only need to shoot one more scene and then I’m off to edit the thing. It’s going to be very exciting to see the end result. [...]
